This amazing one of a kind glass panel combines many of my favorite things in nature. Every individual component is fused glass, each requiring 2 to 4 overnight firings in my kiln. It features a chickadee, ferns, lupine, dogwood, butterflies, a pine bough, Queen Anne's Lace, allium, and a field of flowers. All of the pieces are 3-dimensional, and many of the pieces have glass on both the back and the front, giving them an extra sense of depth. I made the surrounding fused glass border specifically for this piece to highlight my composition. After I completed all of the individual pieces, I then joined them together using the stained glass foil technique. The finished final piece is 16 inches wide by 18 inches tall, plus the length of the hanger.
