I decided to try something new: fused glass mini-vases with lampwork flowers. I was pleased with the first trial, so I'll be creating more variations soon. It has a strong magnet on the back so I can hang it on my refrigerator. And I can remove the lampwork flowers and replace them with water and real flowers.
I recently read an article about the correct use of grozing pliers to shape glass pieces. It said that most people use them incorrectly; it turns out that I was one of them. Who knew that I wasn't using them correctly to shape my pieces for my fused glass pieces? Instead of holding the pliers and snapping the bits of glass off by bending, I was supposed to just pull the piece straight from the score line.
